$30M FUNDING SOUGHT
CAMPBELLTOWN Council is seeking $30 million from the State Government’s Building NSW Arts and Cultural Funding for a ”world;-class” project to revitalise and expand the Campbelltown Arts Centre to include an additional gallery, an additional 320-seat theatre, more rehearsal, studio and education spaces and a new entrance.

DA FOR HOTEL WITHDRAWN
THE De Angelis Group has withdrawn its DA for the Casula 24-hour hotel development following the Independent Hearing and Assessment Panel recommendation to Liverpool City Council for refusal. The community strongly opposed the project.
HARRY HUNT RESIGNS
HARRY Hunt, OAM, owner of the 140-room Country Comfort Hunts Motel Liverpool, has resigned as president of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, after 13 years in the chair.
SHELL SERVICE STATION SOLD
A SHELL service station at 126 Great Western Highway, Blaxland, has been sold at auction for $5.4 million. The property, which includes a Coles Express convenience store and a 24/7 fitness outlet, adjoins Blaxland’s village retail precinct. Shell has leased the property until 2021 with options to 2031.
PROJECT REJECTED BY PANEL
THE Joint Regional Planning Panel has knocked back a proposed Kellyville five-storey apartment complex worth more than $23 million as not being in the public interest. The 86-apartment complex was proposed for the corner of Hector Court and Affleck Circuit. The JRPP took issue with the proposal exceeding the 16 metre height limit by 2.5 per cent to 16.4 metre high. A total of 34 submissions and a petition of 30 signatures were received objecting to the proposal.
